How to perform a motor test?
The Motor Test System under Wuhan UHV can help many power workers conduct various power tests more conveniently.
I. Preparation
1.Safety: De-energize → Verify dead → Tag out → Discharge (capacitive motors).
2.Instrument Calibration: Warm up power analyzer/sensors (error <0.2%).
3.Mounting: Rigid motor fixation; coupling misalignment ≤0.05mm.
II. Core Test Sequence
1.Cold Tests (De-energized):
Insulation: 2500V megger test (≥100MΩ/kV winding-frame).
DC Resistance: ≤±2% 3-phase imbalance.
Interturn Withstand: 1.3-1.5× rated voltage (no breakdown).
2.No-Load Test (Energized):
Measure current (30-70% rated) and power at rated voltage.
3.Load Test (Critical):
Step-loading: 25%→50%→75%→100%→110% load; 10min stabilized operation per step.
Record: Input V/I/Power; Output torque/speed/temperature.
Efficiency: η = (Output Power / Input Power) × 100% (IEC 60034-2-1).
4.Temperature Rise:
Resistance method: Measure winding resistance within 20s of shutdown. Formula (copper):
ΔT = [(R₂ - R₁)/R₁] × (235 + T₁).
Limits: Class B ≤80K, Class F ≤105K.
5.Transient Tests:
Locked-rotor current ≤7× rated; starting torque >1.8× rated.
III. Special Tests
Vibration: XYZ-axis (ISO 10816; >15kW motors: ≤2.8mm/s).
Noise: Sound pressure at 1m (IEC 60034-9; 75kW motor ≤85dB(A)).
Voltage Withstand: 2× rated voltage +1000V, 50Hz/1min (no flashover).
IP Rating: IP54 water spray (100L/min); IP6X dust test (8h).
