Wuhan UHV Helps Anhui Customers
Recently, the after-sales service team of Wuhan UHV went to Hefei at the invitation of an Anhui customer to conduct a voltage withstand test on a 110KV, 630mm ², approximately 400 meter long cable using the 910KVA/270KVUHV series series resonant air core reactor.

The resonant device is equipped with a 40KW variable frequency source, 3 15KVA excitation transformers, 32 reactors, and a 270KV voltage divider. On site, we used 16 reactors in series and configured them in a form of 16 series and 2 parallel. This configuration not only ensures the stability of the device, but also improves work efficiency.

Many people may be curious why they choose to use 16 reactors in series, combined in one group, and why they need to use 3 excitation transformers. Here, we are using the latest technology of air core reactors, which have the following advantages:
High linearity: Hollow reactors do not have ferromagnetic saturation problems, and their inductance values have high linearity, which can more accurately control current and voltage. They are suitable for circuits that require precise adjustment of inductance, such as high-precision measuring instruments and scientific research equipment, ensuring the accuracy of measurement and experimental results.
Strong heat dissipation: Hollow reactors have good heat dissipation effects, with heat carried away by the wind and no heat accumulation, avoiding thermal breakdown problems. Even in high-temperature environments or long-term operation, they can maintain stability and extend their service life.
Lightweight and portable: The hollow reactor has no iron core inside, is lightweight, and weighs only about 24kg per section, making it easy to transport and install.
As for the excitation transformer, the design of three parallel outputs greatly reduces the handling burden. Three excitation transformers can be used simultaneously, with a maximum rated current of 15A. When dealing with short cables or 10KV cables, only one reactor can be used to ensure flexibility in complex on-site environments.
In the handover withstand voltage test in Hefei, the 910KVA/270KVUHV series series series resonant air core reactor performed well. The Wuhan ultra-high voltage team has successfully addressed various challenges with a professional and focused attitude, ensuring the smooth progress of the experiment.
Hollow core reactors provide strong support for precise and efficient testing due to their excellent performance, such as high linearity, strong heat dissipation, portability, and good insulation performance. At the same time, the three parallel excitation transformers also operate stably, taking advantage of their shared output.
Thank you to Anhui customers for their trust in Wuhan UHV, which has given Wuhan UHV the opportunity to showcase our technology and service capabilities. We will continue to monitor the subsequent operation of the equipment and be ready to provide technical support and maintenance services at any time. Looking forward to collaborating with you in more power engineering projects in the future and creating brilliance together.
